About a month ago me and my friend Lotta got frustrated. Both of us had been working the whole summer, and the beginning of the fall semester was closing. It felt like summer had rode past us, without us getting to experience any sun, sea or warmth - even as it was the warmest summer one can remember in the Nordics. We sat down in agony and made a quick decision not to give up yet; and later that week, the tickets were booked. It would be a girls trip without the boyfriends, just laying in a sun bed, eating well and swimming in the sea until our fingers and toes would get wrinkly.
And that we did. Two days of our trip were spent at Beach Club Grand Folies, an oasis of relaxation and magically clear watered beach. We roamed back and forth to Palma and beach locations, ate well and took our time doing so, tasted all the local treats, and freed our minds from whatever stress Stockholm had been putting on us during the past months. Sometimes one just needs physical distance from issues in order to regain energy.
Now we're back in rainy Stockholm, our skins kissed by the sun, our minds rested. What I've learned from this, is that I shouldn't hold so much back with traveling in the future! It really is one of the best investments one can make in their own well-being.
Next up will follow a post of the trips airy summer outfits!
